| Systems Administrator The Systems Administrator’s primary responsibility is to provide 1st and 2nd level support for the IT Infrastructure Data Center and the local user community. The System Administrator will be responsible for installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems, and planning for and responding to service outages and other problems. Other duties may include scripting or light programming, project management for systems-related projects. Job applicants should possess the following: • Strong Microsoft Technologies support including, but not limited to Active Directory, Windows 2003/2008, Exchange 2007, DNS, DHCP, SQL 2005/2008, CISCO firewall, TCP/IP. • Must be familiar with ERP system administration, user management, system maintenance, OS and patch upgrade, backup and restore, capacity planning and troubleshooting. • Experience working with IBM Servers, IBM Blade Center, and SAN storage systems. • Experience with application monitoring and alerting. • Competency in supporting desktop/laptop and application is necessary. • Knowledgeable in managing and supporting antivirus system. • Ability to identify, assess and resolve hardware and software-related problems. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing technical documentation, training users on technical topics, and working in project teams. • Industry certification (e.g. MCSA, MCSE, SERVER+, etc.) preferred. Job duties will include: Operational System Administration • Work closely with the Information Technology Director to plan, implement, and maintain new and existing systems throughout the organization. • Assume responsibility for the infrastructure monitoring, maintenance, backup & restore procedures, and periodic testing. • Develop and document procedures related to systems operations including support procedures, maintenance and incident-response procedures. • Test server performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining server infrastructure. • Ensure that IT Operations processes are followed and documented. Including providing support for IT asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation. • Implement equipment upgrade and roll out. • Support local users for IT related issues. • Provides 24/7 1st & 2nd line support for all infrastructure and help desk support issues. • Willing to carry a pager or Blackberry for after-hours support as required. Job requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in the Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of computer science and 5 to 8 years related work experience. • 5+ years equivalent work experience as a Systems Administrator. • Proven experience in IT Operation server support and maintenance; including working on LAN, WAN, wireless and Internet • Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems. | |
